I did it!
I went shopping and didn’t buy anything for myself! It may sound trivial but to me it’s a huge deal. I am a borderline shopaholic. When I go to the mall with the intention of buying a particular item I leave with everything else BUT the thing I went in to buy. I can’t help it. I’m drawn to the cute new fashion trends. To the sales racks… I hate digging through them but I have to at least look otherwise I’ll feel like I’m missing out on something.
Today I went to buy a bridal shower gift, mind you the shower is tomorrow morning so I don’t have much time. My girlfriend is registered at Macy’s so I parked right in front of the Macy’s entrance and went straight to the bridal registry. Well, I forgot that Macy’s has a home store and a clothing store. So of course I subconsciously parked at the entrance of the wrong one.
The minute I stepped through the door the sales racks were calling out my name. I tried on a few pair of sunglasses. Looked at a few cute summer dresses and found myself trying on shoes. But… in the end I walked away…pulled myself away.
I came home with nothing but a $40 salad spinner.

I kinda did the same thing yesterday, except I had to go to the mall for myself in the first place. I have avoided the Eaton’s Centre like the plague sinse I moved to Toronto, however alas I needed a new blouse for an interview I had for today, and my very good friend Anna insisted I go to Jacob at no less than the Eaton’s Centre. I walked in, and bought an amazing, white, very fitted, button up blouse with nice little cuffs on the sleaves…Anyway it was on sale for $19.99 regular $40. In a giant mall, and I walked out with only one item, that is also something to be proud of I think.

I did the SAME thing at H&M a little while ago. I went in to get JUST a white t-shirt for an event…then I saw all of the $10 sale racks and went “Oooooh!”
An hour & 80 bucks later, I left…with no white shirt. Had to go to Target & buy a three pack of hanes. Oops.
