Is it a scam?
I think we can all agree that a little extra cash would be nice. So…I signed up for one of those “get paid to ans surveys” deal. Now I’m getting a bit nervous that I just fell into a scam. I haven’t given out any personal information but I am getting inundated with emails from random companies asking me to join this and join that… I’m afraid to actually join and fill out a survey.
Earning $25 here and there for giving my opinion could make for some good shopping $$ but it may sound too good to be true right?
Have you done it? Is it a scam?

Sandy….never sign up for those things! I hope you didn’t give out any information that is a little too personal, say like your credit card info, or your phone #. Sometimes those “mystery shopper” things will charge a fee to your phone bill. Just be careful, and remember, if it sounds too good to be true…it probably is.

I would never give out really personal info like credit card #s….that would be a sure sign of a scam.

I have done that as well, my e-mail is bogged down with all sorts of crap from the survey ads. You just don’t what is legit, and what’s not. I do know the ones that say u have to pay first are scams. It was on one of the nightly news shows That made a good point…”Would you pay to get a real job”…well, no…so why would you pay to do that online. I just stopped b/c it got way to confusing. I totally understand, so don’t feel bad..lol!

I have been doing online surveys for years and I do make some good extra cash (tax free!) The good, reputable survey sites DON’T charge for membership and they don’t advertise like crazy. If you are interested you can e-mail me and I can send you some links to some reputable survey sites that do pay and don’t spam

Sandy.. there are a few survey sites that are legit, www.mysurvey.com is a good one however you get points to redeem for gift cards and stuff. inbox dollars is another good legit company. I don’t know if you have ever heard of my points.. that’s a really good way to get points to redeem for gift cards as well, they have alot of different ways to get points. I hope this helps….

Pinecone surveys is also a good one, they pay $5 per survey. Also, Harris Polls allows you to earn points to redeem for gift cards or other items.

Hey Sandy, I think I started to sign up for the same thing and realized half way through it was a scam. They started to ask some personal questions so I quickly deleted everything and got the heck out of that website.

there is alot of scammming with ads like that! i was reading the paper the other day about it.
